Dear Paddler,

Welcome!
We hope you enjoy paddling and training with us, and will consider representing HKOCC in some of the exciting races that are held annually in Hong Kong, Asia and the rest of the world. Please find below some notes on training times, etiquette for roster calls and fees.

Training Sessions:
The canoes are stored at Stanley Main Beach by the Sea School. Training sessions will depart from this venue. Please be mindful that we cannot provide super safe storage for all bags/valuables. There are showers and changing rooms available. On occasion we have to change the starting point or time for the session, so please be sure to check the location and time on the roster.

Roster Calls:
The rosters are compiled weekly; please sign yourself up on the HKOCC website.

Please be reminded: if you SIGN UP, please SHOW UP, and if you SHOW UP, please be ON TIME!

Before each session, an email will be sent out with the list of paddlers and steers-people. Last minute cancellations are not appreciated; please do not leave your crew short as it takes a group effort to not only paddle the canoe, but lift it in and out of the water. Race crews have priority in training. On rare occasions if the session is full, you might be asked to switch to another day/time.

Safety:
Safety is a priority in our club. Our Safety Procedures Manual has been revised recently and you will have been asked to acknowledge that you have read it, understood it and are willing to comply with it when you registered. If you have any questions please ask your session leader, and at all times in the boat, please follow the instructions of your steersperson.

Fees:
Please note that after you have had three trial paddles, if you wish to continue paddling you must join the Club. For more information on membership fees please contact our Membership Officer Jasmine Nunns at newmember@hkocc.com or our Treasurer Katerina Vichou at treasurer@hkocc.com.
